The Obelisk Gate is the second volume of the Broken Earth series. I most enjoyed Essun’s time in Castrima. While I was grateful Nassun didn’t have to endure Jija alone, it was hard to accept her relationship with Schaffa. Ykka and Tonkee were my favorite characters.
