Stranger in a Strange Land

I read Stranger in a Strange Land as part of my continued effort to check out influential sci-fi and fantasy books. I enjoyed the first third of the book as we meet Valentine Michael Smith, a human raised by Martians. However, the introduction of Jubal Harshaw, the outdated gender dynamics, and the focus on religious cults took the story in a direction I didn’t enjoy.
