Jade City

I learned of Jade City by Fonda Lee through Brandon Sanderson’s podcast. It’s a story about rival clans of Green Bone warriors on the island of Kekon. Green Bones harness power from jade and transform it through different abilities. As it’s the first book in the series, there’s naturally significant world building and recounting of history. However, I enjoyed the family dynamics, the action, and power conflicts between the clans.
